About the workshop
"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." — Edgar Degas
This tour explores the theme of “Connect and Disconnect” by examining key moments in art history where artists have sought to connect with their inner selves, humanity, and nature. Divided into two parts—India and Europe—the tour explores the spiritual richness in Indian art and humanity's intellectual and emotional rebirth during the Renaissance in Europe. It highlights the work of transformative artists, including Leonardo da Vinci, Bernini, Caravaggio, Raja Ravi Varma, and Amrita Sher-Gil, with a special focus on the architecture of Rajasthan and the connection to nature seen through Van Gogh.
It encourages students to see beyond the surface and discover the deeper connections between art, history, nature, and their evolving selves.
